The below describe grades are classified grey cast iron, ductile iron as well as cast iron. The ductile iron differ in graphite i.e ductile iron have nodule rather than flake . Nodule property is achieved by adding magnesium. Ductile iron are having excellent strength and ductility. The cast iron grades have flake graphite which results in a brittle alloy but can offer good dampening and hardness properties.
